Lucerne or Bern day trip from Wengen?

    Will be in Wengen for 5 days in June. We plan to spend all our time in that area unless there are days when weather is not great. We are good to go on hikes etc. if it is rainy but if it rains the whole 5 days we thought of day trip to Lucerne or Bern. Which city would you recommend for 2 couples.

    Hi becmcentire,

    Both Bern and Lucerne are nice. What I like about Bern is that it has six kilometres of arcades which makes Bern one of the longest covered shopping promenades in Europe. If you click on the links you can read more about things to do in both cities.

    Hej !

    Well, let’s hope that it doesn’t rain on any of your five days. But in such an unfortunate event, I too would opt for Berne. Check this site, http://www.bern.com/en/home, and it will be updated as Summer arrives.
