I am planning for 2 day trip in lucerne and in first half day i’d like to cover Mt.Titlis. In another 1.5 day, i’d love to visit pilatus and rigi. How i can reach pilatus and rigi from lucerne. Boat trips are most preferred. Whats the end time or closing time of boat trips in lucerne. After return from titlis (approx 18:00), are there any boat trips available?

Hi Chandu, and welcome to MySwissAlps!

You can use the Swiss Timetable in conjunction with the information on the pages linked to below to plan your trips. To fit so much into 2 days will require careful planning and trying out various options with the Swiss Timetable to see what works best.

Hi, I’m having the same question as Chandu. Since the WInter Pass covers all 3, and I have only 2 days. I hope the weather is nice, since I read that if cloudy there will not be much to see.

The one that deserves more time is Titlis right? …. I mean spending time there. I was planning to do Titlis on the first day… then which would you recomend to do in the morning? Pilatus? Leaving Rigi in the afternoon-night … or the other way around?

    Thanks

    Hi Justtrin,

Doing Rigi later in day is probably best as that mountain is lower and train run until the evening, whereas the cable cars to the others only operate until later afternoon or so. Apart from that the weather forecast is important when planning the order to do things.

Thank you very much for the response !

As I understand, the best to start the day is always to visit Titlis first. Once coming back to Lucerne, plan any boat trip . Next day start with pilatus and if still time supports, plan fro Rigi as most of scenic things are covered in pilatus and titlis ?

I’ve one more Q. Is there any thing in Lucerne city to visit ( scenic or interesting one ; no museums or castles please 🙂 ) ?

    Hi Chandu,

In summer months skies tend to be clearer in the early morning indeed, so theoretically that would be the best time of the day for a mountain top visit. However, that’s just an average. Weather circumstances vary a lot, so which time of the day is best during your visit really depends on that day’s weather. If you can, try to be flexible with your travel times and adapt your plans to the short-term forecasts.
