Hi may I ask your suggestion of going to milan from lucerne. Which one can you recommend for a whole day trip only. Flixbus or train? Which one is more scenic?😊

Personally I would prefer taking the train. It’s much safer and convenient.

Hi Aimee Vistan,

Certainly. If you have the Swiss Half Fare Card, the travel from Lucerne to the border (Chiasso) is discounted.

For tickets from Chiasso to Milan, you can find options to purchase online here: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/italy

Also, you can purchase a ticket from any SBB train station.

If you have a valid ticket and travelling with a direct train to Milan, there is no need to switch trains in Chiasso.
