What is the best way to train from Lugano to Zürich ? We want to include the bus route along Lake Como. Also would appreciate thoughts about using Palm Express as an alternative to the Bernina express.

When will you be traveling? The Palm Express is a good option to St. Moritz but doesn’t operate year-round. Read more about it here: https://www.postauto.c h/en/excursion-tips/palm-express
Another option that could work (depending on your travel date) is the Gotthard Panorama Express to Luzern (via a lake cruise on Lake Luzern from Flüelen. But wouldn’t include anytime on Lake Como.

I can’t comment on the Palm Express but I’ve heard it is quite spectacular at the Majola Pass especially. It follows the same route as the Bernina Express Bus as far as Sorico at the NE end of Lake Como.
The Bernina Express is a great train ride. The bus trip from Lugano to Tirano is pretty exciting as far as Sorico but a bit dull after that. Try to get the front seats on the right hand side of the bus for the best views of the lakes and the crazy narrow roads.
