My family will be traveling next May arriving in Zurich from the US around 9am then catching a train to Lucerne to start our journey/adventure. We can’t get into the house we rented until 4pm, are there lockers at the station where we can store our luggage until we can settle into the house?

Yes of course there are lockers at Lucerne train station, where you can leave your luggage. Find details in the lower art of below links:
