    Hi Friends,

Please advise the best way to go to from Luzern to Jungfrau by Train in May. We have Swiss Travel Passes.

    1. Which is the best route to take?
    2. Do we need to reserve seats?
    3. How much time should we plan to spend on top?
    4. Are clothes appropriate for the cold weather available on rent?

Thanking you in advance for your inputs.

    Regards,

    Nehal

Hi Nehal, and welcome to MySwissAlps,

    1. Please read the information on this page: http://www.myswissalps.com/ju ngfraujoch/gettingther e.
    2. No, that is not needed. Best thing to do is check the weather in the evening before you plan to go up and in the morning again and then decide if it’s worth going up and buy your tickets.
    3. That’s different for everyone. People spend around an hour or two.
    4. When are you planning to go up? In the summer it will be cold, but relatively warm so it may be even above the freezing point during the day. Whether there’s sun and/or wind will make a big difference, but you won’t know until the day you plan to go up. If you dress in thin layers, as explained on the Jungfraujoch page, you’ll be fine. Just wear solid shoes, sun glasses and perhaps a hat, and you’ll be fine for a short stay outdoors. There is a Snow Fun Park that rents equipment, but I don’t know if they rent jackets.

Thank You Chantal for the warm welcome & the information.

As we would be coming from Luzern, Is the entire train journey covered by the STP & the Family Card?

The train to Grindelwald or Wengen is free. From there you get 25% off on your trip to the Jungfraujoch.

You can read more about the validity of the Swiss Travel Pass here: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity.
