We will be in Lucerne in June and wish to know the top two mountain excursions out of Pilatis, Rigi, and Titlus. We won’t have time to do all three.

With Swiss Travel Pass, Rigi is free whereas Pilatus and Titlis you get a 50% discount. I guess it depends to some extent how much time you have. Pilatus is certainly closer to Lucerne than Titlis which requires a train trip to Engelberg.

I did Pilatus and Rigi and enjoyed them both in beautiful warm June weather.

Another “free” alternative closer to Lucerne (than Titlis) is Stanserhorn. Or you could even take a train to Schwyz and travel on the worlds steepest funicular railway to Stoos. stoos-muotatal.ch/en/facts-about-the-new-funicular-railway/

Thank you. We will go to Rigi and Pilatus. That should take care of our time there.
