I purchased the 15 day Swiss Travel Pass and on my last day (Sep 28th) I leave for Stresa and I’m confused about how to purchase the last leg. Looking at the train schedules the fastest way is through Spiez but buying the ticket from Spiez to Stresa is quite expensive. If I travel through Domodossola it’s much cheaper however it adds an extra stop and 1 hour of additional traveling. Am I looking at this the correct way?

    Hi bespo77,

with a valid Swiss Travel Pass you can travel for free on the Swiss leg of your journey: from Mürren to the border. From Mürren to Stresa, the fastes way is via Interlaken, Spiez, Brig, Domodossola (I).

You only have to buy your ticket from the border, which is Domodossola (I) to Stresa: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/italy/price.

    I hope this helps,

Thanks Ildiko, Can I purchase that leg of the trip while in the Murren train station the morning that I leave?

You might be able to but it might be deemed an international ticket so could be more expensive. You can buy purely Italian tickets online from Trenitalia

    Hi bespo77,

Probably you can, but I recommend getting it online in advance, to make sure you have it.

You can get it here: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/italy/price.
