We are a couple in our late 20s visiting Switzerland for the first time and have some time to visit one of these museums as we will be staying overnight both in Zurich and Lucerne. Which of these museums is more interesting and worth it overall? Both museums sound equally interesting to us but the a Swiss Museum of Transport is significantly more expensive.

Hi dsan224,

Welcome to MySwissAlps.

At the the Swiss National Museum (Landesmuseum), you can find artifacts and interactive displays which showcase Swiss history and culture from the past to the present. If you have a Swiss Travel Pass, admission is free as the Swiss Travel Pass also doubles as a Swiss Museumpass: https://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/details.

The Swiss Transport Museum on the other hand is dedicated to transportation. Here you'll find a huge collection of transport in all modes, in vintage, current and future forms, some displayed interactively to entertain and educate visitors. In addition, the museum also features unique attractions such as a film theatre, planetarium and a n interactive chocolate exhibition. You can find further information about this museum here: www.myswissalps.com/museumoftransport. Admission ticket is discounted if you have a Swiss Travel Pass.

In my opinion, both are definitely worth visiting if you have the time.

Regards,

Anna
