We are landing in Rome and taking a train immediately to Florence (6 adults). One day round trip by rail from Milan to Lake Como by train (6 adults). Then 5 adults taking train from Milan to Lucerne. Day trip to Mt. Pilatus via boat, cogwheel train, and gondola for 5 adults. Can anyone recommend the best rail pass to buy to make all of these trips more affordable?

As for Lucerne: it really depends on your plans there and how long you stay. If the Eurail pass is not enough, then the Tell-Pass could be an option there: http://www.myswissalps.com/te llpass. Rockoyster’s links help you to compare options.
