I am planning a trip to Switzerland in September with the intent of riding some scenic Swiss trains. I rode the Golden Pass 2 years ago and this year I am mainly looking at the Glacier Express and Bernina Express. Right now I am looking at taking the Glacier Express on the 15th of Sept from Zermatt. I had a suggestion to get off in Filisur and take the short hike down to the viewing platform for the Landwasser Viaduct.

question – Do I stay in Filisur or take a train to Davos so that I can catch the Bernina Express the following day. (it doesn’t look like the Bernina Express stops in Filisur?)

Sounds like a good plan either way. There is a nice hotel right at the train station in Filisur: Hotel Grischuna. The Bernina Express does stop in Filisur. The train line from Filisur to Davos is quite scenic as well, so continuing to Davos to see even more scenery is certainly a good option too: http://www.myswissalps.com/da vos.

I found a real good deal on my airfare and thought I was just going to do the Glacier Express this trip but with the Bernina Express so close I am thinking I can squeeze both and maybe the Gotthard Panarama express up to Lucerne.

Gotthard Panorama Express is a great trip. Do it if you can.
