North-East Switzerland:where was this photo taken?

    I visited Germany and Switzerland in 1997 and have been going through my old photos of both countries and cannot find (through extensive google searches) where I took this photo. I wonder if anyone can help? I believe they were likely taken in North East Switzerland as we were staying in Triberg Germany so the trip to Switzerland was only a day trip.

    I also took a photo of a train which I think may also be in Switzerland. Any help appreciated!

    I think the church might be Berlingen (TG). The churches in Canton Thurgau next to the Bodensee have this style.

    The train is certainly a traditional Swiss passenger train hauled by an SBB type Re4/4II locomotive. The single track railway also suggests the railway along the Swiss shore of the Bodensee
