Hello I am flying into Geneva on 18 July 2019. I have two options of where and when to leave Switzerland. I can either stay till 24/7/19 and leave Switzerland for Turin in Italy or stay in Switzerland till 27 or 28/7/19 and possibly fly out of Zurich for Venice. Would like to know what you would suggest for solo female traveller with regards to length and itinerary and also what pass would be useful.

That’s a tough question to answer without knowing what your interests are.

You also might want to consider taking a train to Venice rather than flying. See http://www.myswissalps.com/pl antrip. If you finished up you Swiss Travels in the Ticino Region then train would be a much better option.

You will want to become familiar with the SBB Timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to plan your travel. If you are not familiar with using the timetable it will pay to first read the instructions on that page.

Thanks for the quick reply rockoyster. I am first time visiter to Switzerland and will fly into Geneva from Madrid after walking the Camino Norte. Heading down to Italy to spend time with family in Dolomites (Asiago) and Padua. Just thought I would look around Switzerland on the way. No specific interests other than not too expensive and I am solo.

Hi Anita,

I like Rockoyster’s suggestion of the Ticino area. Another option would be Zermatt, or Brig as a base to explore a larger region including Zermatt:
