    Hi all,

Need some advise on the road condition and pass closure during 11th Nov from Luzern to Visp (train visp to zematt). And on 13th Nov if anyone can advise driving cross border from Visp to Milan passes are open and road condition? I understand there are train services for cars as alternative to driving at certain passes, please advise which are good to take and how can I book them.

During this time in November which are the recommended sighseeing (mountain) and cable car to take. Preferably in the region of Luzern and Zermatt.

    Please advise.. Thank you..!

Hi Kergid and welcome to MySwissAlps!

From Luzern to Visp you will need to take the car train from Realp to Oberwald (the Furka Pass road alternative is closed).

From Visp to Milan you will have to take the car train from Brig to Iselle (it is currently closed to trucks but should be totally closed by November).

Some require reservations and some do not. All necessary details can be found on our car-train page here. For current conditions on mountain pass roads click here.

For sightseeing ideas in Luzern click here and for Zermatt click here. Some mountain transport options in the Luzern area may be closed when you are there in November. – be sure to check out the mountains website and timetable (look for maintenance comments). For example the cable car to the top of Mt. Titlis (Rotair) is closed Nov. 6-17.

    Hi Lucas,

Thank you so much for your advise. The links you provided really helps. Wanna also check if getting the half pass ticket is it worth it and parking availability at visp/tasch.

    Cheers

    Hi Kergid,

The Swiss Half Fare Card is often a good option for car drivers. It does depend though on your plans for train, gondola, bus use etc. Use our page on how to choose the best rail pass to help you with math to compare costs.

Parking is generally good at both towns – I’d be tempted to go to täsch as it is much closer. 🙂
