Ouchy is about 2/12 hours from Interlaken + 20-30 minutes from Grindelwald.

The route via Spiez and Zweisimmen takes longer (3hrs 42 to 4 hrs 32 min.) but has very nice scenery. I’d use that route at least one way, preferably not once it gets dark. The shortest time is through Bern. Use the “connections” or “via” box in the time table.

This will help on those day trips.

You have listed some good day trips, but, the Jungfrau region is by far the most spectacular and unique tourist area in Switzerland.

Even in late October it is worth the effort to spend some time there.

    Some accommodation suggestions:

    Near Interlaken:

    • Katy's Lodge B&B, at a central location in Interlaken, 2 minutes on foot from the West station
    • Sunny Days B&B, in a quieter location but still very close to the West station
    • Chalet Gafri, in rural Wilderswil, 5 minutes by train from Interlaken

    In Lucerne:

I’d visit Ouchy from Basel not the Jungfrau region.

Culture contrast, shorter rail trip – 2 hrs 25 min +/-
