We will be traveling at the end of August 2019. We want to do the scenic route from Lucerne to Interlaken one way. I have a few questions. Does the train stop in Giswil and can I get off for a few hours? This is an ancestral village that I am trying to fit into our itinerary. We will have luggage in tow. Does this station have lockers or would it be better to ship our luggage ahead to Interlaken Ost? What does that cost?

You can find the train stops on any route using the Swiss railways timetable: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

Enter Lucerne to Interlaken, hit search, then click the train departure you want to expand and show stops (Giswil is a stop). Giswil does not have lockers, nor would a luggage service be available for same day delivery unfortunately to Interlaken:

Do you have a lot of luggage? Would leaving it in Lucerne and going back be an option?

Hi Coniet7,

I think there’s a door to door luggage service with same day delivery that you could use from Lucerne to Interlaken. Station to station service takes longer unfortunately. Links to details are on the second page that Lucas shared.

Thank you for your prompt reply. We are continuing on our trip so we won’t be returning to Lucerne. One large suitcase will be in tow.

Thank you for your help! One large piece of luggage will be in tow. Not returning to Lucerne but heading on to Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen. So is it possible to send luggage on to Interlaken Ost for the day? Can they store it in the office area for a fee?

Giswil is not a large place by any means, so you may not need many hours, and I would think you may be able to get around for the short distances with your bags.

Alternatively there is a station hotel – perhaps ask nicely there if you can leave your luggage.
