This may sound like a silly question. Based on my itinerary, it is possible for us to travel on our own for the entire trip, right? I am a little concern on the missing the train, etc.

I am the key planner of the trip. I hope I can enjoy the trip instead of just watching the schedule. Having thoughts should we just join day trips or a tour.

I think your trip is quite manageable on your own – but not everyone likes doing that and if you hate keeping an eye on the time/schedule it may not be fun for you.

Keep in mind that there is always another train (almost always) and if you have a rail pass you aren’t beholden to take a specific train. Also, the train system here is quite easy to navigate for first-timers I think 🙂 (and the Swiss speak excellent English).
