Hello,

I have 2 questions. My Swiss Travel Pass is not activated until July 31st. Can I change it to July 30th?

Also, is there a discount on the Golden Roundtrip Tour with the Swiss Travel Pass?

you’ll find the validity map of the Swiss Travel Pass at http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/validity. Make sure to download the map and browse the list.

Cableway/train from Kriens or Alpnachstad to Pilatus is half priced with a valid Swiss Travel Pass, while the other part of the Golden Round Trip is for free with the pass (train to Lucerne or Alpnachstad and bus from Lucerne to Kriens). More details: http://www.myswissalps.com/pilatus/tickets

Hi Ildiko,

Thank you for your reply. I bought the pass from SBB. Hopefully, we can change the activation date.

We plan on taking the trip from Lucerne. If I understand you correctly, the boat and the train or bus return are free but the cogwheel and cableway are half price. Is this correct? I looked on the map and was not able to figure out exactly what was covered.

yes, you are correct, this is the Pilatus golden round trip with Swiss Travel Pass:

1. boat from Lucerne to Alpnachstad – free
2. cogwheel train to the Pilatus – 50% off
3. cable car down to Fräkmüntegg then gondola to Kriens – 50% off
4. 10-minute walk to the bus stop called ‘Kriens, Zentrum Pilatus then bus line 1 to the Lucerne – free

In case you have bought your Swiss Travel Pass via STC (the SBB tourist webshop) and via the 25% off promotion, you can cancel your Swiss Travel Pass for free and you can buy new ones, the promotional offer ends in 2 days, so you need to hurry. Contact information can be found here: http://www.myswissalps.com/aboutus/partners/sbb.

If you have bought your passes via SBB, then please contact them directly, they might find a solution for you.

In case if they cannot modify it, then Saver Day Pass can be good for you for that day. It is valid for buses, trains, boats, city transport but not usable for mountain transport. If you buy it earlier it will be cheaper. More details: http://www.myswissalps.com/saverdaypass

Hello Ildiko,

Thank you for the great advice. I was able to cancel the Swiss Travel Pass and get a refund. Then purchase a new one with STC and saved 25%. Just waiting now for the refund to process on my credit card.
