if I have STP or half fare card do I need to reserve seats for travelling in trains along interlaken and surrounding area like grindlewald, lauterbrunnen, murren, zaugfrau etc. then again travelling to lucernce to visit few mountains?

If I buy point to point international tickets do I need reservations?

I am confused to which train travel require reservation and which dont. I have both international travel and local from and to switzerland.

Hi Ovee 27,

You virtually never need to reserve local, domestic trains in Switzerland (I never did over a several year period). The exception are panoramic trains where reservations are mandatory: http://www.myswissalps.com/ac tivities/scenictrips/t rain (except the Golden Pass).

Whether you have a point to point ticket or rail pass has no bearing on making (or not making) seat reservations..

You don’t ever need to reserve seats on any normal Swiss trains
