We plan to be in Lucerne March 9-12 and the forecast is rain. Does it make sense to go to try to go to Mt Titlis, Rigi and or Pilatus in that weather. We considered a day on one of the special trains like the Glacier Express for a day. Does this make sense and if so how should be go about getting to the GE from Lucerne?

Thank you,

Ian

Hi Ian,

Sorry I somehow missed your thread the last couple of days! I have seen the forecast and indeed it would not make much sense to go up those mountains this weekend :( www.myswissalps.com/we ather/forecast

From Lucerne, the panoramic train that would make most sense is the Golden Pass to Montreux: www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass

The Glacier Express would be further afield: www.myswissalps.com/gl acierexpress

You can see the panoramic train routes on the downloadable map on this link which might help: www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity

For tickets on the Golden Pass line, have a look at www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass/tickets

Hope this helps you for this weekend!

Maria.
