Hello there, I hope you can release my worry and help me please. I bought a tour to Italy and France but this tour starts in *Lucerne* so I plan to fly to Zurich since it is the only closest airport near Lucerne and will arrive there on June 2 in the morning. My tour starts on June 3 early morning in Lucerne so I plan to stay one night in Lucerne and now I am trying to figure it out about the train. I know there is a direct train from Zurich airport to Lucerne. But I am not sure about the passes since this will be my one and only ride in Switzerland. Do I have to purchase any passes? or I am fine just buy a train ticket at the airport without buying any pass? Thank you so much!

Ps. If you could, please suggest me about the golden scenic pass as my option since I have free 1-full-day there and have no plan except go to Lucerne in the evening. I am not sure if from The airport – try to take a golden pass paranomic train – lucerne will be too complicated?. I would be very highly appreciated.

Hi Smarch8th, and welcome to MySwissAlps,

If you only travel from Zurich Airport to Lucerne you can simply buy a point-to-point ticket. For prices you can use the Swiss timetable. Please be advised that you need to double the price to get the full fare.

You could travel a part of the Golden Pass line if you go from Zurich to Interlaken Ost to Lucerne. The leg Interlaken Ost to Lucerne is part of the route. If you decide to do this it is worth to look at the Saver Day Pass as a point-to-point will be more expensive.
