Hello, I have searched the forum and tried on SBB and google to get a diagram of the Pontresina Bahnhof but it may be too small for them to have included it? We will be staying overnight in Pontresina 2 nights, but want to do some hiking further down the line, Cavaglia Gletschergarten, before we check into our hotel, and don’t want to lug our bags on the paths. Are there luggage lockers in the main train station in Pontresina or will the folks at the left luggage hold our bags for 5 hrs or so? If there are luggage lockers, is there anyway to know ahead of time what kind of change we need to put into the lockers?

Thanks for your experience and expertise!

    Hi OH Geologist –

    Back again, so soon? ;-()

Try this.. You need to work the SBB site; seems like there is left luggage service, but no lockers.

Small station; careful….there might be two stations close by each other. memory is not working well.

    Check a map.

So….yes, back asking for the nitty gritty details…then, “Left Luggage” does not mean that only luggage that has not been picked up is there…it also means that you may check in luggage for a time and leave it there to be held onto by the staff – as long as you are back to pick it up within the hours that left luggage station is staffed? Wonderful.

    Thank you…

My two favorite new places to visit from MySwissAlps this week: Gelmerbahn up to the hike around GwlmerSee and Cavaglia Gletschergarten! This is a wonderful forum.

Pontresina station is indeed small: two platforms with an underpass. You won’t get lost!
