Hi,

Would like to know if the train fares in the SBB Website/app are static prices – meaning they do not change each day? Because certain timings are really cheap – and it might be better for us to plan for

those specific trips without having to activate a pass. In addition, are the prices same as what we would pay on the spot at the train station?

I seem to be having some problem with buying the tickets online .. to make it easier and more flexible,

if we were to buy tickets which we are not using immediately at the train station e.g. for the afternoon or the next day – would that incur a reservation fee?

Hi Christine,

Generally prices are static and don’t go any higher or lower. There are special supersaver tickets (read more here: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/discounts) that do come and go (marked with a % sign on the timetable: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable)

Those tickets are set for that departure time only (miss it and you need new tickets). The first price you see on the timetable is for Swiss Half fare Card holders (be sure you are getting the correct price as noted on our timetable page).

There is no extra fee for buying tickets online or at the station. Tickets are separate from reservations (though reservations are generally not needed: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/reservations)
