Can you confirm if this applies to Swiss Travel Passes. I read someone reply that they didn’t see the print at home option. I’m also having that problem and can’t find that feed now. I’ll try again tomorrow and see if I have any luck once I know they are Swiss travel passes. Thank you in advance for all you people do to help us travellers!!

    Hi Janbad,

That other issue was on another Rail Europe site and is unrelated to promo codes. The codes apply to all products including Swiss Travel Passes. You should have no problem if you try here on their Canadian site: https://www.raileurop e.ca/pass/swiss-pass-5934. In your case the codes are 29SUMMER18 if you spend $780 and 30SUMMER18 if you spend $1050.

I am trying to purchase the Swiss travel pass from the US on Rail Europe and am having the same problem. Just before entering the payment info there is a message that says most passes must be mailed. I continued on and there is nowhere to select an e-delivery option. :-/

    Hi Drsjw,

Sorry to hear that! I’ve notified Rail Europe about this but I am not sure how soon they can fix it. Can you finish your order despite the fact that the e-mail shipping option doesn’t show? If so, I’d recommend to do that. Just make sure there is no charge for physical shipping included.

unfortunately we are leaving Tuesday at 6 a.m. so I can’t risk the shipping option. I am going to try to contact them tomorrow and maybe can still get the pass purchased before we leave.

I checked the rail Europe website and facebook page, and others were having the same problem over a week ago. What are my other options for purchase? Is there another reputable reseller that can be used if I can’t get an answer from them tomorrow? Can the swiss travel pass be purchsed in Zurich when we arrive?

also, it says that a passport should be carried at all times to prove identity when using the STP. Does it have to be the passport, or will my US driver’s license suffice?

Thanks so much for your help!

    Sheila

Other retailers to buy online are noted here (but this discount is with raileurope)

Yes, you do need to carry your passport with you so they can verify it matches the passport information on the Swiss Travel Pass (which you have to input at time of purchase). Not all train personal will ask for your passport every time but if you don’t have it then you will be considered to be traveling without a valid ticket and be fined.

I called Rail Europe this morning and they were very helpful. There are notices on every page stating that most tickets can’t be printed at home, and there is a page that gives the cost of mailing the tickets, but if you continue on there is eventually an option for print at home tickets (after you give CC info!). It is very confusing, and leads a person to believe that they can’t buy the ticket and print at home almost until AFTER you pay. I chose to have the agent expedite and email the tickets to me and have them in hand now 🙂 See you tomorrow Switzerland!!

    Hello 🙂

We are 2 adults and 1 ten y.o. child are looking at purchasing several rail tickets from

    Paris to Geneva 8/16

    Zermatt to Venice 8/20

    Pisa to Barcelona 8/23

Is it possible to group all these segments/tickets into one purchase to be able to use the “summer’ discount codes? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Chanahpat,

That’s a different promotion than the one we are discussing here in this thread, and it is indeed not available for Singapore: http://www.myswissalps.com/fo rum/topic/extra-travel-days-on-swiss-travel-pass-promotion.

The discounts in my original post above are available for Singapore though. Whether you buy passes or tickets or both does not matter, as long as you order for at least SGD 1040: http://www.raileurope. com.sg/deals/.

Not sure if anyone else misunderstoond this promotion but I thought I’d share something. The discount of $95 does not apply to EACH ticket, only to the total amount of tickets purchasedl

Is it true that prices for the same train same route same time varies by about $20-40 difference between HappyRail & Eurorail? They probably will even out after the Summer saving code. It’s our first time to Europe and booking train so I’d thought I should ask to verify that I am not doing something wrong. Thank you.

    Hi Connie,

Prices may vary by retailer, but a $40 difference for the exact same ticket sounds like a lot. If you’re in doubt then please post details like the route, date and time so we can have a look.

What do you mean by Eurorail? Did you mean Rail Europe?

    Hi Sony,

It’s hard to say what happened. On their Canadian site the maximum number of codes has already been applied, for example. So the promotion expired. Which of their sites are you on and what error message did you get? What’s your order amount?

There are plenty of websites to buy Swiss Travel Passes from, but this promotion is only available via Rail Europe: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/price.

    Hi Sony,

I tried on https://www.raileurope .com/pass/swiss-pass-5934 for an even higher amount and I’m getting a similar message. Really weird. I’ll pass this on to them, but I have no idea when they’ll fix this. Perhaps it’s better to buy via one of the other. I’d recommend https://shop.switzerla ndtravelcentre.com/#/e n/home or https://www.happyrail. com/en/pass/europe/swi tzerland/swiss-travel-pass-consecutive.

I called eurorail today and after one hour on hold , they said this promotion is no longer available. They are sold out .
