    Hello friends,

I did search about this and got a very old thread with some info. I thought it would be wise to post it again to seek more recent and accurate information.

Are there are any public self serve laundromats in Interlaken ?

Also, what is the range of charges that I may incur.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards

    R

I would also like to know the answer to this question. Are there any current self serve laundromats in the Lauterbrunnen area? Or Interlaken.

    thanks!

Hi Rohan and Ness, and welcome to MySwissAlps

Not sure there is a self-serve laundry these days.

Wäsche Perle will do your laundry, including ironing, for you. Kammistrasse 11.

Berna, Untere Bönigenstrasse, apparently offers the same service.

Thank you snowman. I googled and found the Waschsalon in Lauterbrunnen. Have you any knowledge of it?

The self serve laundromat in Lauterbrunnen is on the main street just up from the train station and in front of the Valley Hostel. Last year, 5CHF to wash (soap included) and 5CHF to dry. Use the short wash or the wash cycle will go on forever and do not open the dryer door to check. It will not restart without another 5CHF. Very clean. Have a great trip.

    Hi hockey fan –

How many wash machines in Lauterbrunnen? The one in Wengen under/behind the Silberhorn has about 3 machines, is always full, and requires a lot of patience.. In general, I have found the wash machines in Switzerland to have small capacity ( relative to the “bigger is better” USA), to take a long long time to wash, and produce extremely clean clothes.

I used the one in Interlaken quite a few years ago. Lots of machines, all slow, zillionsof backpackers who would dump your stuff out as soon as the machine was finished (if you were not there) and chaotic.

Could be different or non-existent now.

In those days….1997?..the owner would also wash and dry for you for a fee.

The Valley Hostel self serve laundry has four front loading washers, just a little smaller than my US front loader and three very large comercial sized dryers. We are always there in Sept. and I have rarely had to wait. Once years ago I used their longer wash cycle and it probably took 75 min. or more to wash. The shorter wash cycle cleans the clothes just fine. Slowpoke, I love your travel reviews. Looking forward to your 2019 trip.
