In general it’s recommended to get your passes online in advance. Please see http://www.myswissalps.com/train/ticketspasses/practical/wheretobuy for the reasons.

As far as I know, Swiss rail passes are not for sale at Italian rail stations, except for Swiss/Italian border stations.
