Hi,

We will be doing an excursion to Mount Pilatus in August. Will have the Swiss travel pass with us. Saw the following route suggestion for Pilatus. Please confirm my understanding regarding which routes are covered with STP and which are discounted, also the prices for the routes:

Section 1: by train or boat from the rail station in Lucerne to Alpnachstad; Free

Section 2: by cogwheel train to the peak of Mount Pilatus; (50% discount) Price?

Section 3: by cable car down to Fräkmüntegg; (50% discount) Price?

Section 4: by gondola down to Kriens; (50% discount) Price?

Section 5: by bus back to the rail station of Lucerne. Free

The website http://www.pilatus.ch/en/book ing/prices/ mentions price for route Kriens/Alpnachstad–Pilatus Kulm–Kriens/Alpnachstad as CHF 72 whereas Alpnachstad–Pilatus Kulm–Fräkmüntegg** as CHF 52 (is this applicable to me?)

Also, where can these tickets be bought? at Alpnachstad?

Yes you have the pricing correct and you can buy tickets at Alpnachstad.

If you only get a ticket to Fräkmüntegg you will have a long hike down to Kriens. 😎

Hi Harish,

You’ll need to pay the 72cf (less your discount of 50% with the Swiss Travel Pass) or as Rockoyster notes you will have to hike down to Kriens.
