We would like to travel to Jungfraujoch from Interlaken Ost on April 20. 1 adult has Swiss half-fare and is traveling with 2 children and 2 adults have Swiss Travel Passes and a Family Card for 2 children. We need to catch a train from Interlaken Ost back to Geneva at 16:00. How would you recommend we go to Jungfraujoch and at what time?

    Hi Shrier,

From Interlaken Ost, you travel to Jungfraujoch via Lauterbrunnen and Kleine Scheidegg – this will take about 2 hours.
This really isn’t a possible trip as you will have to leave Interlaken by 13:00 to get to Geneva by 16:00, which means leaving Jungfraujoch by 10:00 or just after.

If you take the 06:35 train to Jungfraujoch it would give you about 1.5 hours at the top before you need to leave.

You can search for all train schedules here.

Thank you, Lucas. I mis-wrote. We need to catch our train from Interlaken at around 16:00, so we should have time. What is the difference between the two routes to/from Jungfraujoch? Price? Duration?

    Ah I see.

No quite similar – just different views. 🙂

The following diagram might help you to visualise the two routes to the Jungfraujoch. Most people go up one way and down the other way so they see the views on both routes, which are quite different but both wonderful.

If the weather cooperates you can’t beat the views for sure! 🙂
