Dear Sir/Mdm,
I am unsure which pass will best suit my itinerary, should I book a point to point, or purchase the Swiss Travel Pass, or get the Sueprsaver Pass? And would any cover the initial jouney from 1) Munich to Lucerne and 2) Grindelwald to Bargo-Gallicano?

My itinerary is as follows:

June 18th – (Germany)Munich to Lucern ,
– Explore Bern/Lucern, maybe purchase City Ticket?
June 19th – Day Trip To Appenzell (return to Lucern)
June 20th – Lucern to Grindelwald
– Day trip to Lauterbrunen or Interlaken
June 21st – Grindelwald First
June 22nd – Grindelwald
June 23rd – Grindelwald to Barga Gallicano (Italy)

The downloadable spreadsheet also includes links to the “Where it’s valid” page for all available passes, be sure to study it carefully. Without calculations it can not be told for sure which pass or ticket would be the best for you.

One thing, if you buy a Swiss Travel Pass or any Swiss rail pass, they are valid only within Switzerland. So if you travel to Italy, they are valid only until the board then you need a ticket for the Italian part of the trip. Same for Germany. You’ll find the timetable at http://www.myswissalps.com/timetable, use the advanced one on the right side. For example from Grindelwald to Bargo-Gallicano it takes at least around 10 hours and you need to change 5-6 times. You can buy your ticket at http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/italy/price.
