You will not be travelling around the Netherlands or France nationally, so your best bet is point to point advance railfares on high speed trains (Thalys (Amsterdam – Paris) ; TGV Lyria (Paris – Switzerland), then an 8 day Swiss pass

Hi MBJB and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Yes, I agree with 1960man, it doesn’t seem like you may be doing any big trips in The Netherlands or France, so I’d look at point to point tickets: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr avel/toswitzerland/tra in/tickets for those countries. As you live in India you can specifically look into http://www.raileurope.co.in/t rain/thalys for trains Amsterdam – Paris and http://www.raileurope.co.in/t rain/tgv-lyria for trains Paris – Switzerland.

Then an 8 day Swiss Travel Pass for Switzerland: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass
Depending on exactly where you go over your 8 days (other than Zurich) a Bernese Oberland Regional Pass could also work for you: http://www.myswissalps.com/re gionalpassberneseoberl and

Have a read here for more detailed help on choosing the best rail pass for your trip (first you must plan out each day’s trips though). http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass

Thank you Lucas and 1960man for your prompt response.

Indeed won’t be traveling much in Netherlands and Paris..just the famous places to visit there. Will surely pick the swiss rail pass for 8 days.

Can you please let me know how much in advance we can book point to point tickets for Netherlands to Paris and Paris to Switzerland?? Looking for first class for 2 adults and one child.

Also if you can suggest some agent for our Netherlands and Paris for sight seeing.

    thank you for your help

    Hi MBJB,

You can buy tickets quite far out for train travel in Europe. Check the links above for more details.

I’m not sure what you mean by an agent for Netherlands and Paris?A travel agent? unfortunately this website only deals with Swiss tourism.
