We plan to fly into Zurich, take the train to Lucerne, stay two nights, move on to Wengen for four nights then on to France via TGV from Zurich to Mulhouse. My questions: when we are in Wengen we obviously will be using the cable cars and cog railroads that are discounted on the Swiss Travel Card and Travel Card Flex. Will those count as days of use on the Flex card even if we don’t board a regular train? Also, are the Swiss Travel Cards good for travel on the TGV from Zurich to Mulhouse? Thank you.

Hi cturner49, and welcome to MySwissAlps,

Yes, these will count as travel days on your Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Travel Pass Flex even if you don’t board a train.

Both passes will cover your trip up to the Swiss – French border. They are not valid in France.

Did you have a look at the Jungfrau Travel Pass as well? It might be an option for your stay in Wengen.
