    Hi Arno,

On a similar note, does the child need to buy a ticket on a NON-FREE day when using a Flex Pass or can travel free (with family card) when the accompanying adult pays in full?

    Hi SR1000,

You do need a ticket on those days for children too. There’s no such limitation on the Swiss Travel Pass Flex Combi.

Thanks Arno. After redoing the calculations factoring in child ticket costs, my original plan to use 8-days Flex Combi (with half-rate card) is turning out to be better. Plus it at least on 8 days we don’t have to buy tickets.

This thread has been really helpful in finally narrowing down the rail pass choice.

Sounds good. Glad to hear all of this was useful to you. You can revert back to Annika’s first post for information on where/how to buy the pass.

    Enjoy your holidays!
