We are planning a late May vacation to Grindelwald/ Lauterbrunnen area via Lucerne. Plan to fly in to Zurich, train to Lucerne and spend a couple of days there, then train to Grindelwald where we will spend 7 days, hiking, Top of Europe, Schilthorn, etc. What I’m unsure about is which of these passes we would be better off with. I know the former pass will take us from Lucerne to Grindelwald. Our plan is purely to train, no car rental. Thanks!

Hi Sgileski,

First of all, please note, that in May, some mountain trails might be still blocked by snow. Some of the high-altitude hiking trails open only in late June – early July. You’ll still be able to find hiking trails, just good to check the snow conditions 🙂
