We are heading to Zermatt in early March for 6 days of skiing. We have skied extensively in North America and this is our first trip skiing in Europe. We love to relax in a hot tub (typically outside) after skiing and enjoy a beer or wine (or two). I see that most hotels in Zermatt have hot tubs (spas) but is having a beverage and enjoying the apres ski stories of fellow travelers not a thing. Just want to set my expectation.

    Thank you!

    Hi J and J,

I highly recommend a great cheese fondue with a glass of wine after skiing in Zermatt, you’ll find many restaurants open for sure.
Learn more about Swiss gastronomy: http://www.myswissalps.com/aboutswitzerland/culturehistory/food.
It is possible that hotels do not allow skiers to the spas if they are not guests of the hotel. But usually, you can buy a day ticket to access the spa of another hotel as well.

Make sure to ask your hotel in advance.

Lldiko, we will definitely partake in some fondue and wine.Thank you!

Our hotel does have indoor and outdoor hot tub just wasn’t sure if it would be a faux pas if we brought a glass of wine (not in a glass container of course) to enjoy while relaxing?

Not sure what is considered acceptable in Switzerland. Please excuse my ignorance;)

    Hi J and J,

There’s no harm asking the hotel if you need further clarification. They may even have room service for that.

    Regards,

    Anna
