Restaurant lunch times

Do restaurants generally close during "normal" lunch hours? Should we expect to find most closed between noon and 2:00?

Many restaurants will be open to serve lunch. The will certainly not close for lunch if they're open in the hours before. Some do not offer lunch at all and only open at the end of the afternoon.
