I decided to take a last minute trip to Stein am Rheim. Could I include the Falls as well? Is there a boat to see the Falls? Thanks!!!

    Hi Mavy,

Yes, it‘s possible to visit Rhinefalls, Schaffhausen and Stein am Rhein in one day. I would start by going to Rhinefalls first. You can take the train to either Neuhausen am Rheinfall or Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall. There are boats that will take you closer to view the waterfalls but these trips are not included in your train ticket/railpass. So you will have to pay extra. You can find info about Rhinefalls here: http://www.myswissalps.com/rhinefalls

From Rhinefalls, you can reach Schaffhausen in less than 30 mins. you can either travel with the SBB train or take take a private shuttle directly from Rhinefalls. The shuttle doesn‘t run regularly so be sure to double check the timetable: http://www.rhyfall-express.ch

Schaffhausen has a lovely medieval old town and the highlight is the Munot Fortress which is easily accessible from the train station.

From Schaffhausen you can reach Stein am Rhein in 25 mins by train or 2 hours by boat. The boat is definitely a great option if you have time to spare.

Please use the SBB timetable to plan your journeys: http://www.myswissalps.com/timetable

    Regards.

    Anna
