Rigi cogwheel railroad; what to do at the top?

    We are staying in Lucerne May 18 & 19 and planning places to see. Google maps indicates we are 39 minutes from Regi. How long should we allow for a relaxing round trip on the cog RR to see the sights. Once at the top, what is there to do?Thanks, BC

    Hi bcandfm,

    I think you mean Mt. Rigi? Typically a trip to Luzern to Mt. Rigi is around 1.5 hours – assuming travel by train and gondola from Luzern. I don’t believe there is a way to get there in 39 minutes.

    Have a look at our information page on Mt. Rigi, with details on routes to the mountain, tickets and a link to the mountain’s website for details on what to do there. Rigi is most popular for hiking in the summer, a spa and restaurants. A big part of the experience is getting there. 🙂
