    Hi

I am arriving at Geneve Airport on 12 Oct 2022 and I would like to take train to St. Galleon and stay there 5 days and come back to Geneve airport on the 17 Oct 2022

What is the best ticket or pass for this train round trip?

    Thank you.

    Hi Bashnaini,

If you’re planning a round trip Geneva-St Gallen in one day, I recommend getting a Saver Day Pass. However in your case your return trip is not on the same day as your outward trip so one option would be to get point-to-point tickets. You can find further information about this here: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/switzerland

Are you planning to make day trips during your stay in St Gallen? Then perhaps you might want to consider getting the multi-day pass such as the Swiss Travel Pass or a Swiss Half Fare Card.

Let us know if you need more info.

    Regards,

    Anna

    Hi Anna

I remember there was a special ticket that traveler to Switzerland can buy from their home country that allow them to get to any city from the arriving airport with special price.

Can you elaborate on this option.

    Regards.

Do you mean the Swiss Transfer Ticket? This ticket is no longer on offer.

Another option would be the Supersaver ticket. But you would need to allocate a generous time buffer after arrival at GVA as the ticket becomes invalid if you are unable to get on the train (e.g. due to a delayed flight) as indicated on the ticket.

    Hi Bashnaini,

the Swiss Transfer Ticket is no more available: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstransferticket.

Regarding the Supersaver ticket (http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/switzerland), I never buy that if I am arriving in Switzerland by plane as it is so difficult to plan in time. If you are late you lose your ticket.

Are you going to make day trips from St Gallen? Or are you staying there for the whole 5 days?

    Hi Ildiko

I am only staying there for 5 days and not planning for any trip there.

    Hi Badhnaini,

Geneva Airport – St Gallen costs 108 CHF one way without any passes. Saver Day Pass for Oct 12 via HappyRail (https://www.happyrail.com/en/pass/europe/switzerland/swiss-saver-day-pass) costs at the moment 87 CHF on 12/10 and 69 CHF on 17/10. Prices depend on demand and time.

I recommend the Saver Day Passes for your traveling days. You can buy it here: http://www.myswissalps.com/saverdaypass/price.

    Take care,

    Ildiko
