    Dear All,

I will be travelling with my husband and spend 1.5days in Interlaken 28-29May and then go to Milan by train in the afternoon of 29 May. We will stay in Milan for two nights and flight to Paris in the morning of 31 May. We are planning to travel all by trains while in Interlaken and in Milan.

We are interested in seeing The Jungfraujoch (hopefully the weather is good) from Interlaken.

I have read about the rail pass etc and all seem very expensive. While I understood there is rail pass exclusive for Switzerland, it would be great if we can get a pass which can maximize our travels from Switzerland as well as in Milan. Your suggestion on how best to spend our trip in Interlaken with cheapest budget for train rides would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Hello TD and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

For such short visits any form of pass tends to be economically borderline compared to point to point tickets.

Where are you coming from to arrive in Interlaken?

A 3-day Swiss Travel Pass may work for you. Especially if you were prepared to look at Jungfrau from the top of Schilthorn (“free” with Swiss Travel Pass) rather than taking the rather expensive Jungfraujoch excursion.

A Swiss Travel Pass will also get you from wherever you arrive in Siwtzerland to Interlaken and to the Swiss border for “free” on your way to Milan.

Even if yo don’t save any money the Swiss Travel Pass is very convenient.

If you are really keen you could read “How to choose the best travel pass” (http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass), download the handy spreadsheet calculator and do the math.

    Dear Rockoyster,

Thanks for the quick response and the welcome. We will be coming from Paris by train. We have already bought the train ticket for that part. We will arrive at Interlaken the night of the 27 May. So we will have a full day in Interlaken on 28 May.

    Best,

    TD
