Visiting Zurich in December from USA. I want to buy a Savers Day ticket from Zurich to Zermatt on December 9th and was wondering if I have to have a half fare card in order to purchase savers day card? Also is savers day card good for any train going to Zermatt thx Tina
Welcome to MySwissAlps! A Saver Day Pass is not purchased for a specific route. You can use it for unlimited trips between all Swiss towns, including Zurich to Zermatt. You do not need a Swiss Half Fare Card. But if you have one, the Saver Day Pass will be cheaper, as well as other tickets you may need during your stay in Switzerland. Please find all details here:

Hi Arno, thank you very much for your response. Very helpful and we are excited to go visit Switzerland, tina
One more question, we are also using a Spartageskarte back to Zurich on December 11th. Once we arrive in Zurich can we also continue using it in public busses and trams for rest of day?
Yes, the Saver Day Pass or Spartageskarte includes urban transportation in larger cities such as Zurich. Please find validity details and a downloadable map at www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass/validity.
