If I buy SHFC directly from SBB, I understand that there is SwissPass account that allow me to sync it with SBB mobile app. If I buy SHFC from HappyRail, can I add that to my SBB mobile app?

    Hi tonylim!

Yes, the SBB app has a SwissPass account, but that’s primarily used to sync with resident travel products, not tourist products such as the Swiss Half Fare Card (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isshalffarecard). You don’t have to do so either, because you can set your SBB app account to 1/2 rates anyway (go to Settings > My Travelcards and pick “Half-Fare travelcard”, which entitles you to the same discounts as with the Swiss Half Fare Card without having to sync with any product). So that allows you to buy 50% discounted tickets in the app. And even if you don’t use this setting, you get to choose from regular fares or 50% discounted fares whenever buying a ticket in the app anyway.

I wouldn’t use the SBB website to buy your pass, as it’s primarily geared to Swiss residents and known to have issues with foreign credit cards during the payment process. Any of the retailers listed at http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isshalffarecard/price is fine. You can use HappyRail indeed (https://www.happyrail. com/en/pass/europe/swi tzerland/swiss-half-fare-card), or the official SBB tourist webshop if that’s what you prefer (https://shop.switzerla ndtravelcentre.com).
