I believe it is possible to do a circuit on this day , up via Grutschalp and return via Stechelberg. Is it necessary to purchase separate tickets or will one return ticket allow the full circuit ? Also having arrived at Stechelberg is there a train to take us back to our Grindelwald base ? Many Thanks Derek

    Hi Pomkitanner,

You can purchage a round-trip ticket for the route, just let the staff at the rail office know your plans and they will sell you the correct ticket.

You can read about the route descriptions to Schilthorn on our Schilthorn page here: http://www.myswissalps.com/sc hilthorn/gettingthere

You can use the Swiss railways timetable to plan the trip from Grindelwald. From Stechelberg you need to take a bus to Lauterbrunnen and then transfer to a train to Zweilütschinen then transfer to another train to Grindelwald, the timetable gives you all those details.

If operating, you can also take the cable car from Wengen to Männlichen and then to Grindelwald Grund and bus to Grindelwald train station etc.
