Does anyone know where I can find a voucher for the Schnupper Halbtax for 33 CHF? Based on my searching, the voucher periodically appears in newspapers, magazines, etc. Since I am still home, I am limited to looking through epapers of 20 Minuten and Blick but have come up empty so far. The only lead I have is on Ricardo and I prefer not to resort to the black/grey market. I have found countless vouchers that are expired 🙁 Any help would be appreciated. TIA!

Hi Retobasica,

Welcome to MySwissAlps! I have no recent information either I’m afraid. In the past, as recent as last year, the promotion was primarily for Swiss residents considering an annual Half-Fare travelcard. But I think tourists were not necessarily excluded. Perhaps someone else has more information.

It was so easy I am amazed myself. I printed one out for and one for my wife. The worker behind the counter seemed genuinely impressed. He processed it no problem asking us if this was our first time redeeming the offer. We said yes, presented our passports and were on our way.

This voucher expired in February. Any one has one that is good for March 2019?

Great job on the voucher. Which train station did get this processed at?

I received this response from SBB

“The vouchers for this special offer can only be obtained and redeemed at the railway station in Küssnacht.”

I used the image attached in this post, not the image posted above. It is only good through February 6th. I redeemed mine at the Zurich Flughafen (Airport) Station. I don’t read Swiss German but the Terms and Conditions look different. Maybe that’s why.

It can be used until end of February, but the halbtax will be valid for two months–so until end of April.
Is that what you were asking?
You can ask the halbtax to be valid for a friend visiting and to start its validity on 28th February any day before the end of February.

I found a voucher that can be used in March for half fare.

I contacted SBB by email and their response was not clear if I can use the original or print out copies.

I will try to use a print out copy in March. If it works then it is great. If not I will buy the monthly half fare for $120.

If anyone has or know where to find the other type of voucher that is posted by retobasica for March. let me know.

I tried it just now and it got rejected. They are apparently not accepting printed copies anymore, only the original cut-out from the magazine.
Will try it at another train station next week. Maybe there they’ll be a bit more lenient.
