    Hi,

I am planning to visit SCHYNIGE PLATTE around 1st week of May. Wanted to know if it is feasible to visit then and will the cog wheel train be operational?

    Hi aadigupta,

I was hoping to do this 21 May but the German website (http://www.jungfrau.ch/de-ch/schynige-platte/) How to get there translates to “With the Berner Oberland-Bahn or the car to Wilderswil. With the historic Schynige Platte railway over the Alp Breitlauenen to the Schynige Platte. Driving time from Wilderswil: about 1 hour. Operating data: May 27 to October 22, 2017 27.05. – 22.10.2017 | 07.25 to 16.45 hours The train runs every 40 minutes from Wilderswil train station. Last descent from Schynige Platte at 17.53 hrs.”

The English version doesn’t show this information so maybe the MySwissAlps experts will have a more favourable answer.

Rockoyster is correct. The train to Schynige Platte does not commence operation until 27 May 2017.
