We are a group of eight adults and two children. We are using the 15 day Travel Pass. On June 21 (mid-afternoon), we need to take the train from Geneva Airport to Wengen. On June 28, we will take the train from Wengen to Chateau d'Oex. On July 2 (early morning), we will take the train from Chateau d'Oex to the Geneva Airport for our departing flight. In between, we will take shorter train rides, such as to Montreux and Gruyeres.
Should we make seat reservations, or not? I have seen conflicting answers to the question whether there is an additional charge to make seat reservations, and whether seat reservations are required on scenic trains such as the Golden Pass. All things being equal, we would like to take the Golden Pass, but if it costs a lot more because we are required to make seat reservations and there is an additional seat reservation charge on top of our Travel Pass, then we would be happy to take the non-scenic trains. Thank you.
