We have a swiss flex pass and I would like to know if it is necessary to book seat reservations for the trip from Zermatt to Interlaken on the panoramic train.

I would also like to know if it is necessary to reserve seats on the panoramic train from Lucerne to Gruyeres.

    Hello Maria,

The only panoramic trains you absolutely have to reserve seats on are the Glacier Express (http://www.myswissalps.com/gl acierexpress), Bernina Express (http://www.myswissalps.com/be rninaexpress) and Gotthard Panorama Express (http://www.myswissalps.com/go tthardpanoramaexpress).

Fro Zermatt to Interlaken you will travel on a small section of the Glacier Express between Zermatt and Brig but you are better to take a regular train rather than the GEX for such a short leg.

If you check the Swiss Train Timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) for Zermatt to Interlaken via Kandersteg then you will travel on the slightly slower but far more scenic route between Brig and Spiez on the Regio-Express Lötschberger train over the traditional, more than 100 year old mountain route, giving you a wonderful view along the impressive peaks and down into the Rhone Valley.

Perhaps Luzern to Gruyeres you mean travelling on the Golden Pass Line (http://www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass)? Reservations are recommended on that route between Zweisimmen and Montreux in peak tourist season.
