Why join a tour? You take the train through Interlaken, then up through Lauterbrunnen then end in Kleine Scheidegg where you buy a ride to the top (expensive tickets, even with a Swiss Travel Pass). Once there you view the scenery, then reverse the process.

But wait till the day before to check the weather. I was at Kleine Scheidegg yesterday and the top of the mountain was clouded over even though everything below was sunny.

    Hi HF6978

You will need the SBB Timetable to plan your journey. http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable and the SBB mobile app for your phone to make life easier. There is a validity map (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity) to show you where the Pass is valid. You can find it by clicking ‘How to Travel’ at the top of this forum page, followed by ‘ Swiss Travel Pass‘ under the heading Rail Passes.

Your Swiss Travel Pass will get you as far as Wengen or Grindelwald. You must not go as far as Kleine Scheidegg without buying a ticket. When you buy your ticket from Wengen or Grindelwald show your Swiss Travel Pass to get a discount on the Jungfrau ticket. I think you can buy a ticket using the mobile app, but I have not done that yet as I have only used it for the timetable and platform information when travelling with the Swiss Travel Pass.

    Hope this is of help.

    Jane

Thanks, Jane, for the important info regarding the need for a ticket at Wengen or Grindlewald. I walked the Granny Walk to Kleine Scheidegg, so didn’t have to get a ticket to KS at Wengen.

    Hi HF6978,
If you prefer to have a guided tour, then you should book one: http://www.viator.com/tours/I nterlaken/Jungfraujoch -small-group-tour-including-guided-walk-around-with-tourguide/. On the link you can read what is included in this tour, it is more, than just the top.
But you can go to Jungfraujoch from Lauterbrunnen just yourself: http://www.myswissalps.com/ju ngfraujoch/gettingther e.
Actually it depends on you, what do you prefer.
