We are family of 4 with 2 kids. In our last leg of Europe trip, we are spending 2.5 day in Switzerland before leaving back from Zurich. We are travelling from Milan to Interlaken. We are staying 2 days in Interlaken and a night in Zurich before flying back the next morning.

    – We plan to take 3 day STP. I understand that we need to pay for our journey from Milan to Domodosola and onward journey will be covered by STP. I noticed that EuroCity train tickets to Domodossola is cheaper if we book in trenitalia then compared to SBB. Is it okay to book journey through 2 different sites? Do i need to reserve seats?

    – We will have luggage so we are thinking of taking the fastest route through Eurocity but should we take more scenic route before we reach Interlaken, if yes what are the options?

    – We reach in the evening and we will have 2 full days. What are the best options to cover given we will have 3 day STP. We like to see as much as we can in this short period

I have gone through the website but nothing jumps out yet. I’ll continue explore myswissalps but any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Deven,

Nothing wrong with booking the ticket to Domodossola with Trenitalia: https://www.myswissalp s.com/traintickets/ita ly/price and then the Swiss Travel Pass with another company: https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass/ price

You will get a reservation on the Italian train but it isn’t needed within Switzerland.

The route will take you, after Domodossola to Spiez. The slightly longer route takes the Lötschberg-Bergstrecke between Goppenstein and Kandersteg before Spiez. This is a much more scenic route.

The quicker route takes the tunnel “Lötschberg-Basistunnel” between Visp and Spiez.

the timetable will show you which trains take what route when entering Milan to Interlaken. https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable

Have you read through the activities to do around the Jungfrau region (Interlaken)? https://www.myswissalp s.com/jungfrauregion/a ctivities & nothing there interested you? What are you hoping to see and do?
