We are driving into Switzerland and plan to spend one and a half days in Murren. Then, we will leave the country. I am wondering if it makes sense to purchase a rail pass or not. It seems like maybe the Junior Pass makes sense for our children, but then for the adults to purchase point to point passes. Any thoughts or experience with short visits and pass options? thank you.

    Hi betsy1964,

Point to point tickets for the adults and Junior travelcards for the children can indeed be a good option if you do not travel a lot and not use the more expensive mountain rides. But it’s worth it to look into Swiss Half Fare Cards for the adults. In that case the children travel for free and do not need a Junior travelcard.

It depends on what you’re planning to do which is the better option. See here for how to calculate please.
