hi,

my husband, daughter and i are visiting switzerland for 4 days.

day 1: reach lucerne early evening. some local sight seeing

day 2: mount titlis

day 3: travel to interlaken and spend second half on a boat ride, etc

day 4: jungfraujoch

day 5: lnterlaken to basel and onward to paris

since we have a tight schedule, is it beneficial to buy a rail pass? if yes, what type is recommended?

or should we just buy tickets along the way, will that work out cheaper?

The only way to know if a rail pass, like the Swiss Travel Pass is economically beneficial for you is to do the math and compares prices and costs of tickets and rail passes.

Hi cdevasena,

My guess would be a Swiss Half Fare Card or a 4-day Swiss Travel Pass (starting day 2), plus a ticket from Basel (border) to Paris. But as Lucas said, only doing the math will reveal the best deal.
